基于单壁碳纳米管与非线性偏振旋转技术在锁模光纤激光器中仿真和实验观测到矩形耗散孤子与高斯光谱脉冲的切换锁模.矩形耗散孤子的光谱与脉冲宽度分别为~6.33 ps和~12.54 nm, 具有非常强的啁啾.适当地调节偏振控制器, 可以获得具有高斯型光谱和脉冲的锁模状态, 其光谱和脉冲宽度分别为~1.87 ps和~2.2 nm.高斯型光谱脉冲的时间带宽积为0.51, 几乎没有啁啾.不同锁模状态间的切换归因于偏振控制器导致的腔内偏振的改变.

A tunable single-longitudinal mode erbium-doped fiber ring laser based on stepper motor and closed loop control is proposed and demonstrated. The system consists of an erbium-doped fiber (EDF), a tunable fiber Bragg grating (FBG) filter and a wavelength detector. The characteristics of output laser, such as output power, power stability and 3-dB linewidth, are investigated in the operation range of 1 531—1 569 nm. The repeated experimental results of the fiber laser show that the 3-dB linewidth is less than 17 ps, the side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) is up to 60 dB, the output power is up to 1.37 dBm, and the power variation is less than 0.61 dB.

利用光纤光栅的反射谱设计了一种用于混凝土纵向裂缝三维应变传感信号的检测及分析处理的方法.利用ANSYS软件自底向上采用构造法构建混凝土三维断裂模型, 分析径向均匀作用力下光纤光栅三轴的应力大小, 由三维受力模型拟合光栅传感器的三轴应变函数, 给出径向作用力下x和y偏振方向谐振波长与三轴应力间的关系, 并且由传输矩阵法计算三轴应力作用下光栅反射谱的变化规律; 理论分析和模拟计算光纤光栅传感光谱反射峰的分裂规律.结果表明: 在均匀的20N作用力下, 10 cm长光栅x偏振方向的波长偏移量最大值为10.1 nm, y偏振方向的波长偏移量最大值为12 nm, 此时光纤光栅的谐振峰产生明显分裂, 形成两个谐振峰, 随着载荷的不断增大, 两个谐振峰不断地向两边分开, 反射峰的分裂点从短波长向长波方向移动, 分裂出来的两个谐振峰中短波谐振峰的反射率高于长波谐振峰, 但短波谐振峰的带宽小于长波谐振峰带宽; 当光栅长度增加至15 cm时, 在相同的作用力下, 光栅两个反射峰的半高宽度均增加, 但两个反射峰的间距几乎不变, 灵敏度达0.14 nm/N.本文研究可将单根光栅结构传感器的二维传感扩展到三维传感.

A novel scheme for photonic envelope detection and fiber transmission of 24 GHz impulse radio ultra-wideband (IRUWB) signal is proposed based on phase modulator (PM). In the system, an optics assisted envelope detection unit (OAEDU) is used for filtering one of the first sidebands at the output of PM, then this narrow band optical signal transfers over single-mode fiber (SMF), and the envelope of 24 GHz IR-UWB signal is obtained after photodetection (PD) and low pass filter (LPF). The numerical simulation results show that the combination of PM and OAEDU can alleviate the fiber chromatic dispersion (CD) effectively. The proposed system may provide a simple and cost-effective solution for IR-UWB receiver.

针对伪毫米波超宽带信号脉冲宽度窄且信号强度低而不易探测的特点, 本文提出了两种光学辅助包络探测方案.将伪毫米波超宽带信号调制到光载波上, 利用光纤布喇格光栅带通滤波器滤出调制器输出的第一边带信号, 通过光电探测器和低通滤波器便可以得到用于判决的伪毫米波超宽带信号的包络信息.数学推导和仿真分析了分别采用相位调制器和强度调制器对输出包络信号振幅的影响. 研究结果表明:强度调制器需要偏置控制电路来稳定偏置点的位置, 当强度调制器工作在最小传输点时, 得到的包络信号幅值最大;相位调制器无需偏置控制电路, 其输出信号包络的幅值等于使用强度调制器的系统可得到的最大值;使用相位调制器的系统较使用强制调制器的系统具有结构更简单和插入损耗更低的特点.

This paper proposes a kind of modulation architecture for wavelength-division-multiplexing passive optical network (WDMPON) employing optical differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) downstream signals and two different modulation formats of re-modulated upstream signals. At the optical line terminal (OLT), 10 Gbit/s signal is modulated with DQPSK. At the optical network unit (ONU), part of the downstream signal is re-modulated with on-off keying (OOK) or inverse-return-to-zero (IRZ). Simulation results show the impact on the system employing NRZ, RZ and carrier-suppressed return-to-zero (CSRZ). The analyses also reflect that the architecture can restrain chromatic dispersion and channel crosstalk, which makes it the best architecture of access network in the future.

We propose the single feeder fiber architecture for wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (WDM-PON) based on directly modulated chirp managed laser (CML). The downlink (DL) signal output from the laser is converted to return-to-zero (RZ) differential phase shift signal using a pulse carver. The downstream signal is reused as a carrier for the upstream using intensity modulation technique. Simulation results show the error-free performance at symmetric data rate of 10 Gbit/s per channel with negligible power penalty and improved receiver sensitivity for the uplink (UL), over 25 km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF). A low-cost and reduced circuitry network design is implemented on a single feeder fiber with the elimination of differential encoder and one external modulator.

The performance of colorless wavelength-division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON) systems suffers from the transmission impairments mainly due to Rayleigh backscattering (RB). In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a single fiber colorless WDM-PON which enhances the tolerance to RB induced noise. The high extinction ratio in both return-to-zero (RZ)-shaped differential phase shift keying (DPSK) downstream (DS) data signal and intensity-remodulated upstream (US) data signal helps to improve the tolerance to RB induced noise. Simulation results show that downstream and upstream signals can achieve error-free performance at 10 Gbit/s with negligible penalty and improve the tolerance to RB induced noise over 25 km standard single-mode fiber.

We propose an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG)-based 10 Gbit/s per channel full duplex wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (WDM-PON). A chirp managed directly modulated laser with return-to-zero (RZ) differential phase shift keying (DPSK) modulation technique is utilized for downlink (DL) direction, and then the downlink signal is re-modulated for the uplink (UL) direction using intensity modulation technique with the data rate of 10 Gbit/s per channel. A successful WDM-PON transmission operation with the data rate of 10 Gbit/s per channel over a distance of 25 km without any optical amplification or dispersion compensation is demonstrated with low power penalty.

We theoretically and experimentally show the impact of the ratio between the signal and idler generated from the PIA part on the gain characteristics in the continuous wave (CW) pump non-degenerate cascaded phase-sensitive fiber optical parametric amplifier (PS-FOPA). The results show that the length of highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF) used for generating the idler can cause the variation of power ratio between the idler and signal, which significantly affects the gain characteristics of the PS-FOPA under the small signal gain condition. To obtain high gain, it is better to choose long HNLF to generate idler. In our experiment, 5.5 dB gain and 18 nm bandwidth (on/off gain>10 dBm) in PS-FOPA can be achieved when 300 m-long HNLF instead of 200 m-long HNLF is used in PIA.
